Homebound for a Month

After a harrowing experience in northern California where the power was turned off (no thanks to PG&E) and there was no diesel gas available for 100 miles (we tried 5 gas stations with no luck) and grocery stores running on generators or closed altogether, we found a gas station over 1 1/2 hours away and made an overnight 8 hour drive or beeline to family in the Monterey Bay area.

We have stayed here for over a month to regroup, get our routine stuff done (dental cleanings and maintaining the RV), and just enjoy being in a home with a real kitchen. We have enjoyed doing day trips to the aquarium, beaches, big towns, and local attractions.

However after a month, we don’t want to overstay our welcome and are feeling the itch to be on the road again. So we are preparing the RV for colder temps, buying groceries, doing laundry, and eventually hitting the road yet again after a nice restful month in one spot.
