Winslow Memorial Park Campground is located in Freeport, Maine and is 10 minutes from the town of Freeport. Freeport is known for outlet stores and several outfitters including L.L. Bean Flagship Store, The North Face, and Patagonia.

The campground itself has 100 campsites and wooded trails with breathtaking views of the Harbor and Casco Bay. In 2018, calling was the only way to make a reservation but they introduced online reservations in 2019. Sites 1-23 are waterfront but some have trees blocking the view of the water.

The campground offers no hookups, but they have a dump site and water available to fill your tank.  The sites are grass sites and are spacious and very well maintained. There’s also beach and boat ramp and shelters for day usage. We found the campground to be quiet with mostly local Mainers.

There are several stairs that lead to the water. From there, you can traverse through rocks, seaweed, mud along the water. We found many sea life and while we didn’t see any seals, we can hear them from a distance. Our kids loved this part of the campground along with the great playground.

One notable suggestion is to wake up early and watch the breathtaking sunrise over Casco Bay. Winslow Memorial Park is by far one of the standout parks we stayed at during our trip to Maine in the summer of 2018.
